NGC772

Constellation: Aries

October 16, 2003.
The image was shot using my C8 and Vesta 690 SC3 camera. It shows the galaxy NGC772 with no less than 2 supernovae, i..e SN 2003hl and SN 2003iq. One of them, SN 2003iq, was discovered only a week ago! See http://www.supernovae.net/sn2003/sn2003hl.html

Amazingly, this image also shows asteroid 6223 Dahl (mag 15.8). This asteroid is named after the famous British author with Norwegian heritage, Roald Dahl.

I was honoured that this image was also named the very first 'Picture Of The Month' (POTM) at the QCUIAG archive site
